Marcello gave me a great deal of help 5 years
ago in researching a book that I was writing about “skepticism.” For various
reasons the book remains unfinished, but I will always be grateful for
his kind assistance.
Speaking as a “believer” (an accredited spiritual
healer—albeit one with a highly sceptical streak of my own) I have to say
that I think Marcello’s brand of scepticism, if generally adopted by skeptics
and believers alike, would advance our understanding of the “paranormal”
relatively quickly. As it is we remain bogged down in a shameful impasse.
And I believe that large elements from both sides are to blame for this.
